Education system of France



France is one of the best European country and education system of France is also very successful and best in the world but according to OECD education system of France is average as compared to other developed European countries.
Education in France is compulsory from age 6 to 16 but many children gets admission in their minimum age as they young as two or just three years old, and almost 50% of 19 tp 21 years old in France are still involved in full-time their studies.



1)      Ecole primaire, or Ecole élémentaire:

a.      Primary school:                age 6 to 11
b.      Curriculum:          similar to other countries plus literacy and numeracy, arithmatics and also geography and history, arts, foreign language, usually English
c.       School week:                   Monday to Saturday, wednesday free.
d.      Timing of schools:           28 hours per week.
e.       Elementry class:   CE means elementaire, in which two middle classes are a prepration for next level.

2)      College:
a)      Middle school:               age 11-15
b)     College unique:              Backbone of French school system and it is designed to provide
                                               fundamental secondary education after that degree of
                                       Specialization given to students.
c)      Subjects:                                     French, Mathematics, history, geography, technical education,
                                       music/art, physical education, civic education, some science,
                                       one foreign language (English).
3)      Lycee:
a)      High school:                            Last three years of secondary education grade 10-12
b)      Traditional lycee:                    2 main types, lycee classique and lycee technique
           
“Except that public lycees and private lycees are separated”

c)      Public lycees:                          Quality education like national system of education
d)     Private lycees:                         should have to provide same quality education as publiv lycees

4)      Lycee professional:
a)      Curriculum:              non-academic syllabus                      
b)      Vocational high school:       its also included in the Lycee professional, in which short courses involved.
c)    Subjects:                 Maths, French, BEP, CAP.
5)      Higher education:

 French universities are open to all “bacheliers” for students who have passed their baccalaureat. Some degree courses and subjects are included in all universities and colleges of France. Every subject has the part of all French universities but some foreign language subjects are optional for students. In which most probably English language involved.
